Cupcakes and Sunshine

Well Hello Blogger Friends!
I know I have been missing for a while. I have been creating a little bit here and there but life has been one incredible roller coaster lately! We had the holidays and I became a Grammie again to one precious young lady! She is gorgeous and I love taking care of her and her Mommy. We cannot forget of course those two adorable grandsons I already just adore!

I have made so many crafting promises to myself for this new year and I am hoping to keep them all. First and foremost, share my love of crafting again. It has been a trying task to get everything all in a row lately and I know it just needs to be done.

I enjoyed making my November thank you cards/projects so much, I wanted to make February my birthday month. It is almost over already, but I want to try and get at least one birthday project per day. Birthdays always creep up and I love to have already made goodies to pull from :)

Today's projects are from three different stamp companies...Kraftin' Kimmie "Mae", My Favorite Things "Hello Cupcake" and an oldie but goodie from Stampin Up "Ladybug Picnic"
Another one of my goals is to pull out some of my oldies and get some new use out of them.
I used some pretty simple layouts with these just trying to make them a little easier to mail since the rates keep flying up. I'm not going to lie, I LOVE a 3D card, but there is something said for simplicity as well.

I hope you have enjoyed my quick projects today. Thanks for hanging in there and coming on by. I have a lot of ideas in my head and hope they come out on paper as I plan. One never knows :)

Share with you soon...and YES I mean it!

Friends Always

Oh where oh where have I been!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't believe it's been two months since my last post. I have been crafting, just not as much as I'd hope I can fit in. March for me is all about change. Whatever those resolutions were a couple months ago, the ones that haven't quite made it through have a change to renew. I have been doing a lot of thinking and trying to rearrange my life to figure out exactly what I want out of it. It has been a lot of work, but in my head, I think I finally know. Now just to implement it into a reality and all will be good!!!!

As for my card..YAY! I was able to sit and actually create for more than an hour at a time so it was great when I was able to play without interruption. I knew I had to pull out something fun and summery too! I ALWAYS find my happy place in the ocean themes!

Enjoy everyone and I plan to keep all my promises to myself and take care of me for awhile along with everyone else :)

Summer fun

Hello everyone.
I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend. I have had a nice day in my crafty place today. These are a few of the creation I have come up with to share. The first card and tag are from Kraftin' Kimmie stamps. Of course I had to fit some summer stuff into the day. And I actually noticed today, I make a lot of mermaids. I am not sure why I love them so much, but I just can't get enough of them. For the card, I added some extras from the sponge bob cricut cartridge and the tag has some really fun glitter paper along with some more scraps. My fairy card is made with some new graphic 45 paper I picked up at Archivers the other day. I just took some of the images and glittered them up and put it all together. It's one of those that is prettier in person.

Enjoy!

Super Saturday Sketch #69

Hi everyone..

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend thus far! I had a wonderful time crafting again today. I was in the mood for a mermaid today..The hardest part was choosing which one it should be! I used one of my Kraftin Kimmie stamps today. I love them, but just haven't been able to boost my inventory. I think if I could get one at a time would be great, but I can never choose! They are all too darn cute :)

For my paper I used a 6x6 paper pack from my minds eye called Stella Rose. Cut more seaweed with my cricut and used some of my Jolies embellishments. The cardstock is from stampin up, peach and night of navy. I just added a little sparkle to all the fins for fun. I even tried some red hair today..That was pretty new for me. It needs some work, but I like it!

I hope you love it..Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Kraftin Kimmie..Pearls

Did you ever have one of those mornings you just really wish you could sleep in just a little longer? My precious Barney (my dog) decided at 3:30am, he was going to start scratching and not stop for almost an hour. It's allergy season for him, so I give him a little leeway, but..at that point, who can sleep. The house is quiet, and I can't go back to sleep, so we create right?
I made this card for the Kraftin Kimmie Pearls challenge. We just needed to use pearls, so I had to pull out the mermaids of course. I added pearls to her headband ad as accents..Just for more bling factor. I used some of my bazzil scraps and went for more of a monochromatic look today. I hope you like her. Have a wonderful Friday everyone. It's a super busy one for me!

Inking of you!!!!

Yeah it's Friday!!!!!!!!!!
I can't believe this week is finally over! It has been a rough one with many tiresome hours working PTA stuff at my daughters school. I love volunteering, but it certainly was a really busy week. It was nice to come home and create something fun. Of course it HAD to be a mermaid..They always make me smile!

This card is for the Kraftin' Kimmie challenge this week. It's directions were to add stars. What better stars than a starfish :) The stamp is part of some fabulous mermaids she has and this one is Calliope and I just love her as much as the others. Click here for the link to the store. I hope you like my card and if you would like to try any of the Kimmie challenges, click here for the link. Have a great weekend everyone. Have a sunny day!

It is finally gorgeous here in Chicagoland! 80*, nice breeze and sunny with just a few fluffy clouds hitting the sky. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect summer day! Hopefully it will last a little longer and we can let go of the 90's for a while.

My card today is for two challenges. Kraftin' Kimmie's and All that scraps. You can buy this sassy beach babe at both of their shops. The challenge at all that scraps was to use a die cut..My palm tree is from life's a beach cartridge for my cricut. Kimmie's was buttons, bling and scallops. Well I am hoping those parts are obvious, I had lots of fun adding it all together. Click here for Kraftin Kimmie's store and here for All that Scraps. You can find lots of goodies in both stores.

I hope you get some sunshine where you are and enjoy it as much as me.

Kraftin Kimmie had a fun challenge this week. All about the bow! I am not sure where I got this ribbon from, but I came across it yesterday in my stash and knew I wanted to use it. Sunny Wishes!

Hello everyone on this beautiful Summer Friday night. The weather is gorgeous outside here. It's nice to just get out and enjoy the night air. This wonderful summer day was an inspiration for my card today. It's one of my Kraftin' Kimmie stamps. You can find her in the kraftin kimmie store here. Isn't she just a sweetie dancing around in her little summer hat? A lot of my papers were from scraps in a K&Co paper stack. I used my cricut to cut out the sun and top note. Coloured with my copics of course. I hope you like it. Wishing everyone bright and Sunny Wishes!

Make a splash..

Kraftin' Kimmie's challenge #35 this week was for shapely cards. I figured I just HAD to use my new mermaid stamps I received for my birthday. I just love them. This is just one of the sets I received. Her name is Ariana..You can get her here in Kimmie's store. I used my cricut "animal kingdom" cartridge and used the border for the fishbowl to make the actual card shape. The ends of the border is where I folded it to make the actual card. (4" dial setting ) It was a lot of work, but I love how it came out. Thanks for the wonderful challenge..It really made me think outside the box with this one! If you wish to try one of Kimmie's challenges, click here for the challenge blog.

You brighten my day!

Getting to play with my Kraftin' Kimmie stamps again today! This weeks challenge was to make something beachy..I don't exactly have the beach on it..you might think I am a broken record otherwise. I thought it still fit into the catagory of beachiness. I used my nestibilities for the sun and added all the cuts for a little ray of sunshine. YOu can't see it from the photo, but I also cut apart the straw pieces on the hat to give it a straw look. If you would like to join the challenge, click here and if you would like to purchase this adorable stamp, click here for Kraftin' Kimmie's store.
