One Big Meaning

Good afternoon crafty friends!

Sometimes the simplest things turn out to be one of my favorite things! This quick card set is just one of those times. I was actually looking through my stamps for something in particular and came across this older set in my stash from Close to My Heart. It's called "Seashells by the Shore" and I was thinking I must just grab it and make something sunny and fresh on a cold winters day!

I paired it with Stampin Ups "One Big Meaning" set and did some back to basics stamping. The seashell is done with calypso coral ink by stamping off twice then stamping on my single layer cards. May I add they are the vanilla cards/envelopes from recollections to make it even easier! For a little extra touch, I also stamped the seashell on the envelopes. That's it...just clean and simple design and a bit of a belly band and matching tag to group them together.

I hope you enjoy them and find some inspiration of your own!
Thanks for stopping by!

Nautical Happiness

Hello friends!

Winter can't keep me away from enjoying some nautical cards...I really wasn't sure where these were going when I started. I just picked up some colors and went from there.

My sailboat card I just used a circle and a square punch with some fancy pants design paper "beach babe" to design my sailboat. Both cards use CC Designs "underwater sentiments" set and Stampin Up "work of art" set. The Fishy card used Penny Black set "Mermaids".

More snow is blanketing our paths again but nothing will keep me away from enjoying summer fun in my craft room!!!

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!!!

Graphic 45 By the Sea Mini

Hello Everyone!
I just wanted to share real quickly an album I made for a trip to Cape Cod later this year. Instead of adding a trillion pics I just shared a few of the pages and the outside view. It took a bit of time to put together but once I got going it seemed to have a great flow to it. Finished there are six pages all with pull outs and pockets.

All the papers were either from the 12x12 stack or the 8x8 stack of Graphic 45 "by the sea" collection. The ribbon was from my stash and the Charm I put together from a few sea embellishments I had all attached to a Tim Holtz ring.

Thanks for stopping by, I really appreciate it!

Beach Bum

Hello again Bloggers!
I can hardly believe it's been an entire month since I have posted anything! I never imagined having three little grand babies in my life would just truly take it over! We threw in spring break and a couple of birthdays and it just seems like the time slipped away. I had crafted a few things here and there and working a bit on my project life in my free time but just hasn't been my usual fun in the inky world as I would like.
I just returned from a vacation to Myrtle beach with one of my daughters and best friend so I guess I am still on beach mode. My little guy was sleeping so I took the opportunity to grab up some inky fun!
My set is one of Taylored Expressions iconic cupcake stamps called beach bum. I had to pull this one out since for the last week, that was pretty much all I did was bum..It sure felt good!!!!
The cards are 4x4 and I made matching envelopes for each one. I think I may make a little box to go with them but I just ran out of time yesterday. I used copic and stampin up markers to color them. I also added some random glossy accents and glitter to make them shine..I know that part is always hard to see but I think you can make it out a bit.
I hope you enjoy the little bit of summer I shared!
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Friends Always

Oh where oh where have I been!!!!!!!!!!!
I can't believe it's been two months since my last post. I have been crafting, just not as much as I'd hope I can fit in. March for me is all about change. Whatever those resolutions were a couple months ago, the ones that haven't quite made it through have a change to renew. I have been doing a lot of thinking and trying to rearrange my life to figure out exactly what I want out of it. It has been a lot of work, but in my head, I think I finally know. Now just to implement it into a reality and all will be good!!!!

As for my card..YAY! I was able to sit and actually create for more than an hour at a time so it was great when I was able to play without interruption. I knew I had to pull out something fun and summery too! I ALWAYS find my happy place in the ocean themes!

Enjoy everyone and I plan to keep all my promises to myself and take care of me for awhile along with everyone else :)

Having a bad day????

Hi everyone!!!

Can I just say ..OMG this guy is too cute! I went to the CHA super show last week and picked up this stamp at the Taylored Expressions booth! I found Taylor's stamps last year and have simply adored them ever since! I couldn't resist playing with these little sharks and cupcake first! I just wanted to use the image as the main focus so I left it as a scallop card and sponged the sky and coloured with copics. I added a few stickles to the scallops on the card and finished it off with some waves on the inside bottom of the card.

Hope you love it!!!

Fintastic Friends

Good evening friends! I must say..Squiggles Stamps went and made it happen! They designed a new stamp in the lilliputs collection and it's a mermaid. Now you didn't think I would pass up the opportunity to use this one right away now did you? When I saw this, I would have to say that I was in heaven..maybe even drooled a little :) It had to be on my list of stamps to use today!

My paper is from imaginisce and peach cardstock. I added some seaweed from m cricut and a few store bought embellishments. Every mermaid must have bling, so I had to add the pearls. Glittered up her fin and added some crystal effects to the bubbles. Lots of fun on this card, somehow I just kept going and going. Don't forget to head on over to the squiggles blog to check out all of the wonderful eye candy our new design team ladies come up with. From looking at their work, they are going to be a great addition to the team!

Beach Babe

Hello everyone..

Can I just say I love this image! Sometimes I feel just like it on a summer day..though I don't have a nice beach nearby to relax with a cocktail, but I can dream :)

The image is one of Mo's digital designs and you can grab one for yourself here. My paper is that fabulous paper from Armerican crafts call hello sunshine. My cardstock is SU crumb cake. My flower is just a handmade paper flower I put together. I added some ribbon, a little crystal effects on the glass and sunglasses and just a little glitter on the polka dots.

I shore am grateful!

Hello everyone!

Short story for this one!

A wonderful friend of mine knew how much I loved the cool carribean paper from stampin up that is retired and was so sweet she surprised me with a pack of it today! I couldn't wait to make something fabulous with it!!!!!!!!

It certainly took a while with all of the airbrushing and cutting, but it was well worth it and I know she will love it!!!! I can't wait to give it to her and know how "grateful" I am that she thought of me :)

Bubbles Happen

You know when you have those days when nothing seems to go right? Well, This is how I feel sometimes and you just have to go with the flow and just let it happen! I love this stamp set from our craft lounge. I used my airbrush for the water and sand, and coloured the rest with copics of course! I added some crystal effects to the bubbles and a little dazzling diamonds glitter and stickles for sparkle :) I Kept the layout pretty simple and just added a few little touches and extras to make it pop a little.

Super Saturday Sketch #69

Hi everyone..

I hope everyone is enjoying their weekend thus far! I had a wonderful time crafting again today. I was in the mood for a mermaid today..The hardest part was choosing which one it should be! I used one of my Kraftin Kimmie stamps today. I love them, but just haven't been able to boost my inventory. I think if I could get one at a time would be great, but I can never choose! They are all too darn cute :)

For my paper I used a 6x6 paper pack from my minds eye called Stella Rose. Cut more seaweed with my cricut and used some of my Jolies embellishments. The cardstock is from stampin up, peach and night of navy. I just added a little sparkle to all the fins for fun. I even tried some red hair today..That was pretty new for me. It needs some work, but I like it!

I hope you love it..Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Have a splash!

Hey bloggers!

I so badly needed to make another beachy card today. It's just been one of those weeks and somehow when I make these cards it's almost like I can imagine me being at the beach and it really makes me feel better.

I can honestly tell you I had a lot of fun with this one. I just kept adding and adding to it. Every time I would think I was just about finished, I figured out something else I wanted to add.

It's a little hard to see but it's filled with lots of glitter and all the water has crystal effects on it to give it a shiny feel. My seashell and starfish are some cute new embellishments from jolies. I love them, but they are a little pricey so I will need to use them sparingly. My image is another digital today from Di's Digi downloads. This one is called "have a splash" and you can find her here!

I though she was perfect for my collection and of course she is mine for keeps now :)

I wish everyone a wonderful evening and a good rest of the week!

Seaside birthday

TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I need say no less! I am so happy it's finally the weekend! I hope everyone will make it the best ever!
My card today is kind of a wish of mine. I wish I could be this guy sitting on the dock listening to the seagulls and smelling the wonderful smells of the ocean..yup..I love that smell and have to say, I really miss it sooooo much! Someday I will get back to the beach, not sure when, but some day!
The stamp I used today is from CC Designs called "Sailor Trevor" and I also used the "dock" digi and merged them. If you are interested, you can grab them here at the all that scraps online store.
My cardstock is from Stampin Up "marina mist" and "soft suede" and my pattern paper is some older paper I had from Rob and Bob. I colored it all with my copics and added some distressed stickles and some crystal effects on the water to give a glossy look.
Enjoy the card everyone and best wishes for a safe and fabulous weekend!

I used dazzling diamonds glitter on the cloud, stickles on the water. It's hard to see, but I added some crystal effects to the tube to give it a glassy look. Enjoy and I hope you get a chance to try the sketch!

Free day!

Hello everyone.

I really haven't been feeling so well today, but wanted to play. I wasn't sure what I was going to do when I sat down, but these are my two projects I wanted to share for today.

My first card I had to make. I have been wanting to make a summer card for a while now and everything else has taken over. If you have been following me, you know by now I LOVE mermaids! I am guessing why this project just fell together today. The waves and sand are just some white torn paper inked with some great beachy colors and my sun is just made from scraps. My stamp is from Pink Cat Studio. Click here for their fabulous website.

My second card is just a fun little valentine I put together from a VERY old SU set called toucan of my love. It's a fun little set to bring out this time of the year. Some of my oldies get pushed to the back sometimes so I love bringing them out. My leaves are made with my life's a beach cricut cartridge.
Well, hopefully I will feel better tomorrow and bring you a little more wow, in the meantime, enjoy..stay warm!

Kraftin Kimmie..Pearls

Did you ever have one of those mornings you just really wish you could sleep in just a little longer? My precious Barney (my dog) decided at 3:30am, he was going to start scratching and not stop for almost an hour. It's allergy season for him, so I give him a little leeway, but..at that point, who can sleep. The house is quiet, and I can't go back to sleep, so we create right?
I made this card for the Kraftin Kimmie Pearls challenge. We just needed to use pearls, so I had to pull out the mermaids of course. I added pearls to her headband ad as accents..Just for more bling factor. I used some of my bazzil scraps and went for more of a monochromatic look today. I hope you like her. Have a wonderful Friday everyone. It's a super busy one for me!

Card Recipe:
Paper: Bazzil scraps
Ink:Momento Black, Bermuda bay
Copic Markers: RV13,21,23,25 Y23,15 YR02 BG11,13,32,34 B2 YG23,05 E41,25,31,00,11 R20
Misc: stickles and pearls
