The journey begins

This is my very first challenge card for Mo's digital challenge blog. It is all about mo's fabulous digital stamps and creating fun cards with them. This weeks challenge was to make a masculine card..which we no are all too hard to do. She has a lot of great masculine images in her shop..Click here to take a look! If you get a chance, click here and check out her blog and see what a great job the design team did with this weeks challenge!

For my card I used one of my favorite digital stamps Captain Hugh and the matching pirate stuff set. I used photoshop to remove any background and made it a white fill to layer all the pieces together. If you don't know how, just use a magnetic lasso around the image, inverse the image and erase the background. This leaves your image to "save as" a png file. You can then layer it without having the rest of the images show through. Never save over your original image, this way you always have it. You can always make a copy of your image before you begin just to make sure!

Card Recipe:Stamps: Mos digital pencil "captain high and pirate stuff
Paper: SU White, soft suede
Pattern Paper: K&Co classic K Baily mat stack

Try it Tuesday..Bouncing Brayer

Anytime I get to use my brayer I get really excited. I love how you can make a million different designs with it. This card background is made using the bouncing brayer technique. Just ink up your brayer and going around your cardstock in a bouncing motion. Just reink and keep going in a circle until you get the amount of background color you want. Plus it was a great excuse to use the darling fishy Jolees

Super Saturday Sketch # 17

I've been feeling under the weather last week, but here is this weeks sketch just a few days late!

Can I just tell you..I LOVE this card and this layout this week. When I was shopping one day, I found this package of darling birds and thought they were so odd, I just loved them. I thought they were the cutest thing. I was happy to incorporate it into this weeks sketch. I tried to make it a little more interesting to the eye by giving it just a little angle. Best of all..All my papers besides the base were scraps! I just love that too! I hope you get a chance to try it.

La Petite 3D stickers "spring bird"
Paper: SU white, Cocoa

Try it Tuesday..Baby Carriage

Today I made my try it Tuesday from a great card one of my dear friends showed me! Thanks Cheryl! This was my secind try..My first one looked a little crazy! But I love how it turned out. I had the cute little vellum baby girl sticker I mounted to some white cardstock and cut it out. She was the perfect touch for the carriage!
My second project is one of my old try it Tuesdays. It took some thought for this one because I needed the box to hold all the cards I made my friend for her birthday. I had to actually think today!!! I can't believe I actually made it work.
Enjoy!

The last of the Bunch...

These are the final cards for my friends gift box. I loved the flower pot card and just had to include one of those. I changed up the colors and really like how it turned out. I hadn't used the Changito monkeys yet, and I really love them. The bling I had for the bubbles I found in the dollar spot at Michaels a while back and knew I would have the perfect project for them. I can't wait to find another project to use them on..I just love how bubbly they are! The bird..yes..I had to use the bird punch again! I think I am addicted to it. I hope they have some more fun punches like this in the new catty in July. Enjoy!

Super Saturday Sketch #16

Today's sketch is a fun House Mouse image. I just love the way they help each other to get a drink. Let me know if you want a little more detail to the sketches. I really want to keep them simple so the average crafter can feel they are not overwhelmed by a lot of layers. I would be happy to change them up a bit if you want though. Just leave me a comment and let me know.

Designer lottery.. Stamping Bella

Every couple of weeks there is a new designer lottery theme over at ISC. I usually don't enter too many because they are ATC's which..I just don't think I am good at. But this time it was for stamping bella cards..I just love stamping bellas, so I knew I wanted to join in. The winner gets all the entries mailed to them. I haven't won yet, but I keep holding out hoping one day I might. It is all just a drawing so you never know! I am not sure the name of this one, I received it in an image swap and would have to do some searching to figure it out :) I really liked the color combo that I picked out today..I think the 80* weather outside made me think springy and girly! Plus I used colored pecils today..That was fun too! I hope you like it!

Stamps: Stamping Bella
Paper: Perfect Plum

Copic Colour Challenge #60 Ahoy Matey!

I had so much fun with this one. This is one of Mo's new digital images you can get at her store . The girl is first mate Kate and the barrels are from a background set called pirate stuff. I just loved it and had to have it right away..I am sure she appreciates that! I think I am slowly getting hooked on these digital images. I never knew how much fun they could be by changing sizes and layering.
The copic colors chosen this week were really perfect for this image..It was so funny to me how they fell into place just a day apart. I love the colors and I know I will be using this combo again. Try it Tuesday..Basket Weave

For this weeks "try it Tuesday" I wanted to try a new kind of background. I was looking at the girls' Easter Baskets and thought this might be a fun background for a card. I cut the strips into 1/2 x 6 inches, inked the sides and weaved them just like you would in kindergarten. It was a lot of fun, it did take some time though. I just used a simple image so it wouldn't cover the background. I hope you like it and will give it a try.

I tried it and I LIKE it!

I saw this card in an SU magazine and oh I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. The roof is made with the scallop punch and of coarse the birs are the fabulous punch..that may I add must use..over and over again! I will have to scale the card a little next time because I feel it's missing something up at the top, but I really will use the technique over and over. When I was holding it, I figured that punch will work perfect for waves too..just flip it around..I am sure all of you smarty pants already knew that though. It takes me a while!
Card Recipe:
Stamps: Pebbles rub on
Paper: Chocolate chip, pumpkin pie, naturals white
Pattern Paper: SU sweet pea

I think I might have to fit my try it tuesday in tomorrow and fins a new technique that I would like to try just for fun. So many projects..so little time..Isn't that how it always works?

Some Bunny Loves You

Thank you 2 cute rubber stamps for another amazing deal on a FREE digi stamp! What a great stamp just in time for Easter! I have had such a hectic schedule that I finally was able to get to using this fun little bunny. Click here and head on over if you want to try your hand at this bunny, or they have lots of great stamps to purchase too! The saying is a hand made rub on. Just design a saying, mirror it in your text box and print it on a clear transparency..the glossy side.. then transfer it to your paper. Sometimes it runs for me, so transfer first then adhere to your project so you don't ruin it. Best part is, You can just wipe off your transparency then use it again.

NEW TOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't you just love getting new crafting toys? While I was away on my Vacation last week a fresh new box of goodies came for me. I have been so busy, I haven't been able to dig into the until today. I sure had a wonderful time playing with them all!!!!

Punches Punches Punches!!! My box was filled with some new punches and I just LOVE them!!! Here are a couple projects I made!

Turtle card was made with my new tiny tags punch and stamped with everyday flexible phrases by SU. The turtle is from my brand new SU set Nature's Nest and the paper is rust, kraft, and K&Co mat pad run through my cuttlebug with leafy branch folder and sanded just a bit.

"Sing" was made with the SU two step bird punch, K& Co mat pad and some new rub-ons I just bought the other day.
.Think outside the box with punches..The tulips were made with the same bird punch as above but using just the wing and mounted 3 of them together...I used the branch by cutting the leaves off and mounting them separtely. The vase is a Quickuts diecut and the paper is from the same K&CO mat pad.
