Karen's doodle day :)

I have to say, I think I have to name today Karen's doodle day. First I had the bookmark..Which has now been swiped by my oldest daughter, and now I have these two cards I did today also.
The Halloween one is for a facebook challenge card. Yes, I now have facebook. I was trying to stay away as long as I could, then all of a sudden, this fabulous image was just in my reach..You were able to get the image only if you agreed to play along in the challenge..Which I was happy to oblige :)
I am actually proud of the way the colouring turned out. I am not really so good at blacks, I either need more practice or I just need more. I only have a few black copics in each catagory. Maybe for Christmas I can put more I my list :)
I used the free image, and some K&Co scraps I had from last year. The spider is also from leftover K&Co stash. I tied him up with some black wire to give a webby kind of feel to add just a little extra touch. Copics I used were..FY1, YR15 T3,5,7 Y26,28

My happy fun school bus I couldn't resist when I saw this in Karen's Store. I didn't even think before I added it to my cart..I just knew!!! Thank you Karen for enabling me and my addiction. The paper is from a Debbie Mum paper stack. I love the colors. It's so lively getting ready for the school day! My apples and pencils are just some stickers I put on white scraps and cut around the outer edge. I added just a few little bling and ta-da..all finished. I think I might make some little cards for the teachers for Christmas with this one. Or a note pad. Since it's digital, it can be any size you wish.
Copics I used for him are:E34,35,37 R32,34,20 Y32,35,38 W1,3,5 YR16 YG25 B24 V15
If you would love one of your own, click here and head on over to Karen's doodles and grab one!!

Back to school Bookmark

Karen's Doodles challenge #26 is all about the bookmark! It has been some time since I have made one so it was a great push. I used the"reading is fun" stamp. Isn't he cute. The best part, Since it's just a few supplies, I was able to dig into my pile of scraps for this one. It's been a couple months since I have been able to pick up a book and actually read, so maybe I my new bookmark will inspire me to take a little time to myself. If I can find some that is!

Merry Christmas

Good morning bloggers.
Last year I tried a new concept, "2 a week club" This was a club I made up for me,myself and I to get my Christmas cards finished on time. I just tried to make two per week and actually it worked out perfect. No stress of doing them all at once and they were all finished when needed. I think I am going to try it again this year since I have already started without even realizing it.
This darling skater is one of my Squiggle Stamps I found across the pond! She is all decked out and ready for Christmas. I actually have one present myself already. I am very good about getting done early, but I never have anything this early. I again went with the non traditional colors and I love how they all worked out together. I must have a block on getting those Christmas colors out so early.
I am trying a squiggle stamps challenge for the very first time. The challenges there are monthly challenges, so I am hoping I can join some more. This months challenge was to use 3 pattern papers, 3 flowers, 3 brads and add some metal if you choose. My paper is from a paper stack "make it possible" and I colored some white prima's to match the colors I used in my image. The image is called "skating with gifts". It is one of the many fabulous stamps in their store. They have lots of digital and lots of rubber! So something for everyone for certain. If you would like any of the awesome stamps, click here for the squiggle stamps store. If you would like to try this challenge, click here..There are just a couple days left for this one. Good luck.

Aren't these possums just the cutest things! I love them hanging from the tree. This card just makes me happy every time I look at it. I have to figure out who could use a smile most and send it to them. How could it not brighten up their day!

Karen's Doodles challenge this week was to make a project with animals. Now knowing I just love animals, I had to find a fun stamp to use this week and this is just the perfect one. I just added a few embellishments to finish the card, but I thought not too much..I wanted to keep the attention on these little darlings! Now how come when I see them outside at night, they can't be this cute..I run VERY fast when they come across my path here!

Have a sunny day!

It is finally gorgeous here in Chicagoland! 80*, nice breeze and sunny with just a few fluffy clouds hitting the sky. I couldn't have asked for a more perfect summer day! Hopefully it will last a little longer and we can let go of the 90's for a while.

My card today is for two challenges. Kraftin' Kimmie's and All that scraps. You can buy this sassy beach babe at both of their shops. The challenge at all that scraps was to use a die cut..My palm tree is from life's a beach cartridge for my cricut. Kimmie's was buttons, bling and scallops. Well I am hoping those parts are obvious, I had lots of fun adding it all together. Click here for Kraftin Kimmie's store and here for All that Scraps. You can find lots of goodies in both stores.

Super Saturday Sketch #33

All you need is love! How sweet is this little angel holding her kitty? I love this image from mo's digital shop. I just fell in love with it the moment I saw it. You can grab one here at her store.

As for my sketch..It is a little more detailed this week. Lots and lots of layers..Just how I love them. My favorite are cards with lots of dimension to them. It is a little harder to mail, but worth it to me in the end. I hope you get a chance to try it! Leave me a link to your card if you do.

SCRAPS!
This is a little bonus birthday card I made with some scraps from my sketch card. Now a little card for my stash and used up some of my scraps at the same time!

Oh Sweet Baby!

Oh my it has been a very long and exhausting week. I have really missed crafting and posting. I am hoping it will slow down a little for the weekend so I can play with my crafty toys.
Just a couple of baby cards to share today. I seem to be adding the filmstrip style to my cards a lot lately. I have a feeling it is a new style I am really enjoying. Maybe because I get to add all my favorites stamps to one card? Whatever it is, I see myself using it over and over lately. It doesn't look like I am stopping anytime soon! Whatever the style, I hope you enjoy it. Happy Friday and have a super fabulous weekend!

My first Christmas card of the year

I am not sure how this happened. I was just playing with my cricut and found some trees I wanted to make. Somehow I started making the trees and ended up with this card. I am happy I did it, It got me remembering Christmas is just four short months away and I really should be making a couple a week. Just some simple embellishments put it all together. I used a K&Co paper pack and embellishments from last year and added just a few rows of snow. The trees are from the winter woodland collection. Enjoy..I hope it gets you sparked..I know some of you are procrastinators and I hope I reminded you how close we are..It's 90* outside, one would never guess it will be 0* in just a few months.

Super Saturday Sketch # 32

Just a simple fun sketch for today. I wanted to leave it a little flatter for mailing purposes. It was really hard for me since I love dimension so much, but I think I accomplished it pretty well. If you would like to add more to it, you can easily add some bling or ribbon or other embellishments to give it the little extra pop. I love these Changito Monkey's. Sometimes I forget all the fun stamps hiding away, so it was nice to come across the scraps and remember all about my Monkeys..As always, if you try the sketch, leave me a link so I can see.

Just another birthday

Today I bring you a couple of birthday cards I have been working on. It was nice to make some fun manly one's for a change..I don't know why those have to be so hard to make. At least for me they are! I know my mallard isn't true color, but I thought I would just play outside the box for this one..That's why we get to create it how we want right?
I played with lots of colors and different stamp companies to create each one. If you would like any further details about colors or stamps used, let me know, I will be happy to add them.
Enjoy..Have a great weekend.

This cutie elephant is available in the Karen's doodles online store here. You can find all kinds of fun goodies in the store. Iused just a few flowers, a strand of pearls and a love tag to finish it off. If you would like to join in any of the challenges, visit the Karen's doodles blog here.

Super Saturday Sketch # 31

Today's sketch comes just a day late because I was having a blast at CHA this weekend. Lots of goodies to see and touch and all the new toys to play with. I pick up a few goodies for myself. I will be posting some of them in the upcoming week :)

I hope you like this sketch. I used an image from Karens doodles called time for tea. Isn't it just darling. I computer generated the the saying and cut it with one of my new spellbinder dies i picked up at the show. It actually has a little extra part to it that I cut off for this project. Enjoy and as always..Leave me a link if you get a chance to make this sketch. I would love to see it.
