Dare to Dream

It has been one heck of a two weeks around here. I feel like crafting is the one thing that gives me so much joy but life has gotten in the way and it has been left behind. Somehow there just needs to be more than 24 hours in a day. I did get a chance to play a little this evening and make this card. I was inspired by the absolutly beautiful day we had today and added the sweet butterfly chipboard sticker. I hope you enjoy.

Copic Challenge 56

Today's challenge was with some really pretty colors. I had so much trouble last week, so it was nice to work with some colors I like to play with all the time. I have never actually used these colors in particular in my projects, so it was nice to find a new match. The girl is a digital stamp from Mo's digital pencil shop. I am still trying to get use to the digital stamps, but there are some amazing designs you can't get as stamps. Once I get the printing down, I won't mind I am sure. If you would like to try the copic challenge, click here and head on over to their blog and give it a try..And remember, you don't need the exact colors, you can use something similar or close.

Try it Tuesday time!! Rubber Band Background

Today for "Try it Tuesday" I tried the "rubber band background" technique. It was a lot of fun and it was really easy to do. Just wrap a couple rubber bands around your brayer, ink it up and brayer your plain paper. I turned the paper a different direction for each color to mix it up a bit. I left the card pretty simple so I could still see the background. I was going to take off the butterfly and add a small circle or something, but gosh those embellishments were sticky and wouldn't come back off. It's something I will definitely try again! Enjoy
Card Recipe:
Paper: SU Lavender lace and Certainly Celery
Pattern Paper: K&Co
Ink: SU celery, lavander lace and teal
Misc: K&Co butterfly and happy birthday rub on

Flower pot card gone wild!

I needed to make an Easter basket shaped card for a challenge this week at ISC. I thought well, I just learned how to do this flower pot card on Try it Tuesday, why not make it a little bigger and give it a try! I used my Cricut tags cartridge on blackout to make an oval for the insert. The outside to me looks a bit like a purse when I keep it alone, but I thought it turned out adorable.
I think I will have to try to purposely make a purse one day..I know just a birthday girl who would love it.

Try it Tuesday "Cuttlebug Wax Resist"

So many possibilities with this try it Tuesday. So simple but what a great outcome. Just run some wax paper through your cuttlebug folder. Place it on glossy cardstock and iron for a few seconds. The wax will adhere to your glossy paper then you can choose a color of ink and sponge it all over. Only the parts with no wax will ink up. You can find a tutorial at splitcoast stampers if it helps. GIve it a try!
