This Special Season

This week at Merry Monday Challenges its all about the "star" I wish the sparkle would show up on this card because it just glitters and shines in every movement. I have no idea if it's my new room I craft in or just my camera is just gone mad but I can't get decent photos that capture the true feeling I give my cards.

I just used some white on white for this one and stamped a sentiment from the Stampin Up "special season" set. The ssmaller stars are punched right into the card staock and backed with gold glitter paper and the larger star is punched with the same glitter paper. I took some smooch, added a bit of water to speckle the background of the card.

If you would like to try your hand at this challenge, Head on over to Merry Monday challenge blog and get started each week on those Christmas and Holiday cards!

Thanks for stopping by everyone!

Pop up birthday and Thanks

Good afternoon everyone! Just wanted to share a few cards I made today. This was my first try at a pop up card. I used my owl punch and my woodgrain embossing folder. The layout of using the owls was part of the directions I followed. The rest was all free hand cutting and using up some scraps. I figured it fit the theme :)

My other card is just a fun card with SU picnic parade. I hadn't even inked this one up yet, so that was fun to try it out. Just something simple today..Thanks for looking!

The last of the Bunch...

These are the final cards for my friends gift box. I loved the flower pot card and just had to include one of those. I changed up the colors and really like how it turned out. I hadn't used the Changito monkeys yet, and I really love them. The bling I had for the bubbles I found in the dollar spot at Michaels a while back and knew I would have the perfect project for them. I can't wait to find another project to use them on..I just love how bubbly they are! The bird..yes..I had to use the bird punch again! I think I am addicted to it. I hope they have some more fun punches like this in the new catty in July. Enjoy!

I tried it and I LIKE it!

I saw this card in an SU magazine and oh I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it. The roof is made with the scallop punch and of coarse the birs are the fabulous punch..that may I add must use..over and over again! I will have to scale the card a little next time because I feel it's missing something up at the top, but I really will use the technique over and over. When I was holding it, I figured that punch will work perfect for waves too..just flip it around..I am sure all of you smarty pants already knew that though. It takes me a while!
Card Recipe:
Stamps: Pebbles rub on
Paper: Chocolate chip, pumpkin pie, naturals white
Pattern Paper: SU sweet pea
Ink: Chocolate chip, pumpkin pie
Misc: Gems, SU grossgrain

NEW TOYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't you just love getting new crafting toys? While I was away on my Vacation last week a fresh new box of goodies came for me. I have been so busy, I haven't been able to dig into the until today. I sure had a wonderful time playing with them all!!!!

Punches Punches Punches!!! My box was filled with some new punches and I just LOVE them!!! Here are a couple projects I made!

Turtle card was made with my new tiny tags punch and stamped with everyday flexible phrases by SU. The turtle is from my brand new SU set Nature's Nest and the paper is rust, kraft, and K&Co mat pad run through my cuttlebug with leafy branch folder and sanded just a bit.

"Sing" was made with the SU two step bird punch, K& Co mat pad and some new rub-ons I just bought the other day.
.Think outside the box with punches..The tulips were made with the same bird punch as above but using just the wing and mounted 3 of them together...I used the branch by cutting the leaves off and mounting them separtely. The vase is a Quickuts diecut and the paper is from the same K&CO mat pad.
